History: The software began as a set of interactive online math lessons to allow practice of basic arithmetic and math skills. Interest was high and the site became heavily used by students in regular school classes, home schooled students and as a resource to help understand and practice math skills. User comments and requests over the last 7 years have helped eliminate problems and have led to numerous improvements in the lessons.

Benefits of the CD: Many parents requested creation of an offline version of the software due to it's use primarily by young children. The CD version allows use of the lessons without being on the web with it's potential problems for young audiences. Since then, thousands of copies of the CD version have been sold exclusively through the AAAMath.com website. We are now moving one step further and making the software available through regular retail channels. As an additional benefit, the CD has lessons that are not found on the AAAMath web site.

Why it Works: Immediate feedback is a primary strength of this approach to learning math. Normal homework and worksheets have the flaw of allowing the student to repeatedly practice problems without correction until later. If the student is using an incorrect method, the incorrect method is learned through repeated practice. Immediate feedback in the MathClass lessons gives positive feedback and prevents practicing and learning incorrect methods.

Improves Self Confidence: Many students experience frustration with math and often just give up trying to learn it. Nobody wants to feel or appear to be incompetent at an activity or skill. People often prefer to just give up that activity rather than feel or look inadequate.
